Peasant and organic farming

The vines are located on the historic Vendôme hillsides at an average altitude of 115m. They are spread over two areas : Naveil (Le Clos du Vau, la Plante au Huet) and Vendôme (La Pente des Coutis).

They are all south-facing, planted on flinty clay soils on limestone parent rock (tuffeau).

Aged between twenty and seventy years, they are farmed organically (certified by ECOCERT). The soil is worked mechanically, and the vines are protected with small doses of copper and sulfur. Plant teas (horsetail, yarrow, osier, nettle) and nettle purins complete the treatments. No weedkillers or other synthetic products are used.

Although Pineau d’Aunis (2 ha) and Chenin blanc (1.60 ha) predominate, the estate’s vineyards offer a wide variety of grape varieties : different varieties of Gamay with white juice (0.80 ha) and red juice (0.30 ha), Côt (0.30 ha), Pinots Noir (0.25 ha) and Cabernet Franc (0.25 ha).
